Galaxy S26 Wireless Charging Rumors, Galaxy S26 Qi 2.2.1 Magnets Still Missing

Galaxy S26 wireless charging Qi 2.2.1 support

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series is set to improve wireless charging, even as new leaks confirm the phones will not include built in Qi2 magnets. The change suggests Samsung is upgrading charging speeds while keeping magnetic support limited to cases.

Early reports pointed to Samsung finally adding native Qi2 magnet support to the Galaxy S26 lineup. That plan now appears to be dropped. As with previous models, magnetic features are likely to depend on phone cases rather than magnets inside the device.

New listings at the Wireless Power Consortium show three Samsung phones supporting the Qi 2.2.1 wireless charging standard. The model numbers are hidden, but they are widely believed to belong to the Galaxy S26 series.

The certification lists charging speed at 5W, which is typical for early filings and does not reflect final performance. Qi 2.2.1 is newer than the standard used on the Galaxy S25 series and supports charging speeds above 15W. This matches earlier reports suggesting 20W to 25W wireless charging.

The listings also lack an MPP indicator, further backing claims that the Galaxy S26 phones will not include built in magnets.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S26 series on February 25, with full details likely confirmed at the event.
