Galaxy S26 Likely to Skip Built In Qi2 Magnets Despite Earlier Leaks

Galaxy S26 Qi2 magnet leak

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 series is now unlikely to include built in Qi2 magnetic support, according to the latest leak tied to official Samsung accessories. This comes after months of reports suggesting Samsung would finally add native Qi2 magnets to its flagship phones.

Recent information shows Samsung preparing both magnetic and non magnetic first party cases for the Galaxy S26 lineup. The presence of non magnetic cases strongly suggests the phones themselves do not contain internal Qi2 magnets, as native Qi2 phones typically rely on magnetic cases to maintain accessory strength.

Earlier leaks had pointed to faster Qi2 wireless charging and new magnetic accessories designed for the Galaxy S26 series. While Samsung appears ready to sell Qi2 compatible chargers and power banks, the phones may still depend on special cases rather than built in magnets.

So far, Google’s Pixel Fold lineup remains the only major Android series to offer native Qi2 magnetic support. Samsung has previously used magnet based cases instead of integrating magnets directly into its devices.

Samsung has not officially confirmed Qi2 hardware details for the Galaxy S26, which is expected to launch at a Galaxy Unpacked event later this month. If the leak is accurate, Samsung would be delaying native Qi2 adoption for another year despite growing demand for magnetic accessories.
