Xiaomi has launched the Pad 8 globally, expanding availability beyond China as competition in the Android tablet market continues to grow. The tablet was originally announced on September 25, 2025, and is now available internationally with updated pricing for Europe.
The Xiaomi Pad 8 features an 11.2 inch IPS LCD display with a 2136 x 3200 resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10, Dolby Vision support, and up to 800 nits peak brightness. The screen uses a 3:2 aspect ratio and delivers sharp visuals at around 344 ppi, targeting users who prioritize productivity and media consumption. The device measures 251.2 x 173.4 x 5.8 mm and weighs around 485 grams, with a glass front and aluminum frame and back.
Under the hood, the tablet runs Android 16 with HyperOS 3 and is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset built on a 4nm process, paired with an Adreno 825 GPU. Memory options include 8GB or 12GB of RAM with 128GB or 256GB of storage, using UFS 3.1 on the base model and UFS 4.1 on higher variants. There is no microSD card slot and no cellular connectivity.
The Pad 8 is equipped with a 9,200mAh battery supporting 45W wired charging, along with reverse wireless charging support. Xiaomi includes quad stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi Res audio support, while connectivity options include WiFi 6 and WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type C 3.2, and an infrared port. The tablet does not support NFC or GPS positioning.
For cameras, the device includes a 13MP rear sensor capable of 4K video recording and an 8MP front camera for video calls. Stylus support is available via a magnetic attachment, with accessories sold separately.
With pricing starting around €449.90 in Europe, Xiaomi is positioning the Pad 8 as a performance focused Android tablet aimed at users who want flagship level power and a high refresh rate display without entering ultra premium pricing territory.
