Samsung Electronics will unveil the Galaxy S26 series on Feb. 25 in San Francisco, marking its first major flagship launch of 2026. The company says the new lineup signals “a new phase” where AI becomes more personal and adaptive.
The Galaxy S26 models are expected to retain a similar design to recent Galaxy S devices, with Samsung placing stronger emphasis on artificial intelligence upgrades rather than major hardware changes.
The launch comes as Apple reports record demand for its redesigned iPhone 17 series, increasing pressure on Samsung to accelerate innovation in the premium smartphone segment. Samsung has teased a built-in privacy display designed to reduce sideangle visibility. Unlike third party screen protectors, the feature is expected to be integrated directly into the device.
Galaxy AI capabilities are also expanding. While Samsung currently relies heavily on Google Gemini, the company has been exploring integration with OpenAI and Perplexity AI to broaden user options.
“As long as these AI agents are competitive and can provide the best user experiences, we are open to any AI agent out there,” Choi Won-Joon, president and chief operating officer of Samsung’s mobile division, previously said.
Samsung’s foldable devices showcase engineering advances, but the Galaxy S series remains its primary volume driver. The S26 launch will be closely watched as a measure of Samsung’s competitiveness in 2026.
Samsung may also introduce new wireless earbuds and accessories during the Unpacked event.
